No! Scientists have identified only 1 gene that contributes to why we go grey (the IRF4 gene), and it only accounts for around 30%. The rest is due to nutrient deficiencies, oxidative stresses, everyday stress and other lifestyle factors as well as aging. So what does that mean? If you're using dye to cover your grey hair but have <30% grey, The System can help to slow and delay the growth of new grey hair, and potentially repigment some of your greys. If you use dye and are >30% grey, we recommend using The Shower Duo to help deliver fuller, softer and smoother tresses and help preserve the pigment you do still have. Arey grey hair solutions work best for repigmentation in the early stages of grey hair. If you're more than 30% grey or have white hair, our products can help improve the texture, smoothness, and elasticity of your grey hair, but you'll be less likely to see repigmentation. There's an important difference between white and grey hair: grey hair is in the process of depigmenting and can still be preserved or repigmented if there is still melanin left in the hair bulb.
